My name is Laura Henry, owner of InnerCore, Inc., a personal training business located in Campton Township, (near St. Charles). Eighteen years ago I was morbidly obese at 257 pounds. At my highest weight, I realized I did not want to be that heavy anymore. I was miserable and looking for a different way. I lost 120 pounds in eight months on my own. This time frame is not long enough to lose weight in a healthy way and I ended up in the midst of an eating disorder. I ate 800 calories a day and exercised 2 ½ to 3 hours a day. I wasn’t obese anymore but was still very unhealthy. I looked healthier but I wasn’t. July 2007, I decided it was time to really focus on me and figure out what I need to do to be healthy and maintain that health. I embarked upon a fitness program and started my journey. I have gained so much from this experience. I never really knew what to eat, when to eat, or how to workout. February 2008, I created my own fitness business and I incorporated InnerCore, Inc. I am a Certified Fitness Trainer and Specialist in Performance Nutrition through ISSA. Today I am lean, healthy, and happy. I have found that balance that I was missing all these years. My intention is to help people find balance while avoiding the mistakes I encountered along my journey. I am committed to helping people get healthy the right way for life.
