The Manifesto
Personal trainers, fitness experts, and all those in the fitness industry:
- Have a responsibility to empower people to improve their health and fitness through science-based information and ethical selling practices.
- Should stop selling the dream and get real with people. This means not using “sleight of hand” marketing tricks to mislead or fool people. This means promoting images of healthy, fit bodies, free of drugs, instead of elite bodybuilders or top fitness models (whose body image targets are out of reach for almost everyone).
- Stop promoting “diets” and start promoting healthy eating. Diets are stop-gaps and have no longevity. Most are terribly unhealthy and ridiculous gimmicks.
- Stop promoting untested supplements.
