Guys: Building a Strong Chest Exercises & Tips

We’ve all seen those guys who seem to have the perfect chest.  Be it movie stars, athletes, or your neighbor, we’re betting you’ve seen their sculpted pectorals and felt a tingle of jealousy.  If you want that
chest you’ve got to work for it, but let Workout-X take some of the guesswork out of it! Were here to bring you some exercises and tips to help build a strong chest. Keep your workout fun, try something new!

We cannot emphasize more that focusing on one area is not a good idea.  You should be working your entire body so that you have a solid build to support an equally strong chest.  These tips are geared at guys who can’t seem to get the tone they want out of their current exercise routine!

Push Up

Obviously the most basic exercise is the push up.  The push up manages to not only target the chest but these other groups as well:

  • Abs & Core
  • Hips & Buttocks
  • Legs
  • Shoulders
  • Triceps

Make sure you are using proper form when doing push ups. Many will push their hips up too high or let them sag which can lead to the pushup not being as effective.  For proper form, be sure to check out our animation here

TIP: If regular push ups are getting too easy for you, try an elevated or “hand stand” push up for an increased challenge. ALSO, if push ups are too difficult try an elevated hand push up or knee push up.

Rowing:

Rowing is actually a great full body workout, but also provides a significant challenge for your chest.  Be sure that you aren’t slouching or letting your arms do all the work.  For proper form, be sure to check out the animation here!

Dumbbell Benchpress:

Benchpresses in general can help build a strong chest. Not only does this exercise work the chest but also the shoulders and tricepts!  Make sure your not arching your lower back and not keeping your chest elevated. For proper form, be sure to check out our animation here!

TIPS: If you dont like the Dumbell Benchpress, you can do a standard bench press as well.

Burpees:

Perhaps the most hated exercise from your high school and college sports teams, it is a great full body exercise that works the chest muscles in a good range of motion.  Not to mention all the other benefits you will get from the exercise. Make sure you dont sag your back! For proper form, be sure to check out the animation here!

There are many other exercises that can help give your chest (and whole body) a great workout and start getting better results. Be sure to check out Workout-X exercises for proper form and execution of any exercise.  Join Workout-X for free and begin body changing experience!
