The Best Bodybuilding Workout?

Are you thinking of taking your fitness training to the next level? Then you should definitely consider bodybuilding. Unfortunately, bodybuilding has gotten some bad media attention, thanks in part to a few builders who turned to illegal drugs to help them get the body they wanted so that they could compete.

If you are a beginner who is interested in bodybuilding as a way of feeling fitter and looking better then why not go for it? Remember that you are a beginner – so using the fitness routines of a pro is definitely not the way to go.

You want to create a bodybuilding workout that is going to maximize your strengths and define your weaker spots – so that you can focus more on these areas. Before doing any type of workout, it is always a good idea to get the okay from your physician – but once you get this, you are definitely good to go.

How do you create the perfect bodybuilding workout?

Although you can work out at home, you will, no doubt, find that your local gym has a lot more equipment to offer you – so you might want to consider registering if you haven’t already.
You should start off with the basics, such as Bench Presses. You should use weights that are a challenge but not impossible for you and do 3 sets of 10 reps. Make sure that you choose the right weights for all your exercises as this will ensure that you get the proper strength level.

You should also make sure that your workout incorporates crunches and squats as well as leg curls and barbell curls.
If you are unsure if your workout is well balanced, it is a good idea to talk with a trainer at the gym who can create a bodybuilding workout that will be both safe and results oriented.
Don’t forget the other important facet of a bodybuilding workout – nutrition. If you are going to put all this time and energy into making your body fit through exercise, then you also need to consider what you are putting in your mouth.

You should eat carbs such as rice and potatoes and increase your protein intake and reduce substantially your fat intake. Instead of sitting down and having 3 large meals, eat every 2 to 3 hours and have smaller portions. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and don’t forget to drink lots of fresh water.
You should also take vitamins each day, preferably containing fish oils.

Dreaming of having a bodybuilding body? It is possible with hard work, commitment and lots of sweat.

  • Great post, Mike! I think my first step is actually just to *think* about working out. After that, it should all just come naturally, right? ;)

  • Make an appointment for your work out Liz and start a walking program or join a gym with a friend. You can do it!

  • My favorite bodybuilding workout includes one compound exercise performed at MAX intensity followed by an isolation exercise performed until exhaustion – Dorian Yates style.
