Losing Belly Fat For Men: Cut The Booze And Burgers

Losing belly fat for men is sometimes a daunting task. Belly fat may be something that you have struggled with for your entire life. Losing that collection of fat around your stomach area (abdominal obesity) is possible and absolutely necessary for optimal health – more on this later. Belly fat can be addressed through physical exercise and dietary changes. Dietary changes must be included along with the physical exercise in order to see the desired results.

When determining to lose belly fat you should first take a measurement of your stomach area. This is important for several reasons.  First, waist circumference can be used as an indicator of health risk. To assess your disease risk compare your measurements to the table below:

Risk Category                                Waist Circumference cm (in)

Very Low                                            <80 cm (31.5 in)

Low                                                      80-99 (31.5-39.0)

High                                                     100-120 (39.5-47.0)

Very High                                           >120 (47.0)

Second, knowing your waist measurement will help you to keep an assessment of weekly transformation and will help you to track the belly fat that you are losing. It is important to keep yourself motivated and encouraged and measurements are a key part of that encouragement. In the past you may have tried diet and exercise and not seen enough results and simply quit prematurely. You may not see an immediate change in your clothing for the simple reason that you have probably been wearing your pants below your waist for a significant period of time (jailin). Because you have already been wearing pants with the waist too small, you will not see a significant change in your clothing until you have lost several inches of belly fat. Measuring your belly will help you to see that inches are melting off.

The second step to losing belly fat for men is to change your diet drastically. You will need to remove excess calories and excess sugars. This is a lot simpler than it sounds – cut the beer and burgers. Another way to remove excess calories is to simply stop eating after 7 PM. Many men find that they eat the majority of their food late at night when they are lounging in front of the TV or preparing to go to bed. These calories are simply being transformed into fat and being stored in the belly area. It is essential that cut down on excess eating especially after 7 PM. Removing excess calories and sugars can also be done simply by cutting out sodas, heavily sugared coffees, iced tea, and other heavily sugared juices. You can replace these drinks with water, all natural sodas, and stevia sweetened coffee. Simply cutting back on beverages will help you to lose belly fat quickly and easily.

Adding simple exercise to your regular routine will also help you to lose belly fat. Walking, jogging, or adding a sport such as racquetball, will greatly increase your cardiovascular strength and you’ll begin to see the weight melt from your belly. Add core work to your daily workout regimen. Use medicine balls and pulleys to add resistance to your abdominal training. Increase the number of ab exercises you do each day. If you follow these basic tips for losing belly fat for men, you will see how easy it really is to lose your belly. You will amaze your family and friends with the newer, slimmer you.  Cut out the booze and burgers and you may improve your risk profile as well.
