Workout Tips to Keep You Motivated

We all wish there were some magical workout tips that would somehow make us really “like” the gym, working out and sweating.  Unfortunately, the reality is that, for many of us, working out will always be something that we do because we know it is good for our bodies!  But, this does not mean that we can’t use a few handy “tips” to make our workouts as smooth and pleasant as possible!

One of the most important things to remember when you are committing to any workout is that YOU actually are in control of the work out.  You can choose the time, place and the workout that YOU feel you want to do.  You do not have to do the same old routine you have been doing, why not try something totally different, at a different time and maybe even in a totally different setting?  Its nice to be able to add some variety to your work outs.

Try to make friends at your gym and then commit to meeting this friend at specific times.  It is amazing how much faster the time goes when you have someone to talk with and share fitness stories with.

Tired of wearing the same old outfit?  You can certainly “treat” yourself to a nice new outfit as a reward for working out so diligently.  You could make it part of your goal setting and work your way towards a new outfit.

Why not get a personal trainer to whip up a totally new program?  Or find a workout plan online.  This will make you feel invested in your workouts and you get to work out to a whole different program.

How about changing your playlist? Have you been using the same 20 songs for the last year?  It’s time to update your playlist and add a few new tunes to your iPod and don’t afraid to mix them up – the faster the better!

How about making your work out a family affair? You can get the children and your spouse to join the health club and you can do family work outs such as swimming, badminton or tennis.  It will certainly be fun and you can get quite a workout swimming or running after the birdie or the ball.

There are lots of ways to keep your work outs interesting, you just have to be a little creative at times.
